About the Role:
As a General Food Technology (FT) Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons that promote a love for food, nutrition, and healthy living. You will plan and teach across Key Stages, monitor student progress, and contribute to a vibrant technology department. Your role will involve preparing and delivering lessons in line with the national curriculum, supporting students in developing essential life skills, and maintaining a safe, well-equipped classroom environment. You will also be expected to play an active role in departmental planning, assessment, and extracurricular enrichment related to food and nutrition.
Food Technology (FT) Teacher Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
A degree in Food Technology, Hospitality, or a related subject.
Experience teaching Food Technology in schools is desirable.
Strong organisational and classroom management skills.
A creative, practical, and inclusive approach to teaching.
Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps).
An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
