Job Description

We're supporting a contractor delivering a key carriageway project south of Birmingham and are looking for an experienced General Foreman to join on a freelance basis, taking ownership of site operations and driving progress on the ground. 
Job Role 
As Freelance General Foreman, you'll oversee day-to-day delivery across the carriageway works, ensuring activities are coordinated, safe, and delivered to programme. 
Key responsibilities include: 
·Supervising site teams and subcontractors across the scheme 
·Managing daily operations on active carriageway works 
·Ensuring all works are carried out in line with health & safety requirements 
·Coordinating activities around underground services 
·Monitoring progress and reporting updates to the Site Manager 
·Maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with specifications 
Requirements 
·SMSTS certification (essential) 
·First Aid qualification (essential) 
·Strong experience as a General Foreman on carriageway or highways schemes 
·Solid understanding of underground services and safe excavation practices 
·Ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple workstreams 
·Strong communication and organisational skills

Rate is dependent on experience.
