Job Description
General Foreman – Civil Engineering (Highways & Infrastructure)
Location: Sizewell C, Leiston, Suffolk
Long-term project | Major civils contractor | Excellent rates
We are working with a respected civil engineering contractor delivering key infrastructure works on the Sizewell C project. They are currently seeking a General Foreman to assist in the delivery of highways and civils packages. This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced foreman to join a major UK infrastructure scheme.
Role Overview:
The General Foreman will be responsible for supervising site activities, ensuring that work is carried out safely, to specification, and on programme. You will coordinate directly with engineers, site managers, operatives and subcontractors, playing a key role in daily operations on site.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Manage and supervise works including drainage, ducting, kerbing, streetworks, and general civils
*
Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to at all times
*
Conduct toolbox talks, site inductions, and daily activity briefings
*
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to site management
*
Liaise with site engineers to ensure technical compliance
*
Manage plant, materials and labour efficiently
*
Contribute to quality assurance and snagging processes
Requirements:
*
Previous experience in a General Foreman or similar supervisory role within highways or civil engineering
*
Strong working knowledge of drainage, ducting, kerbs, earthworks and highways works
*
Good leadership and communication skills
*
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
*
Experience managing direct labour and subcontractors
Certifications:
*
CSCS Supervisor or Manager Card
*
SSSTS or SMSTS
*
First Aid at Work (preferred)
*
Full UK driving licence
