Job Description
Our client, a leader in the highway construction sector, is currently seeking a General Foreman to join their team on a contract basis in Sheffield. This role is pivotal in overseeing and coordinating highway construction projects to ensure they are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervising and managing day-to-day operations on highway construction sites
Ensuring that projects are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations
Coordinating with site engineers, project managers, and subcontractors
Monitoring project progress and making adjustments as needed to stay on schedule
Managing and motivating site teams to achieve project goals
Reporting on project status and any issues to senior management
Inspecting completed works to ensure they meet quality standards
Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to the projects
Job Requirements:
Experience in highway construction and maintenance projects
Strong knowledge of health and safety standards and regulations
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in project management software and tools
Relevant construction qualification or equivalent experience
