Job Description
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operation, strategic direction, and commercial performance of Sittingbourne Racecourse. You'll lead a diverse team across racing, events, hospitality, and grounds management, ensuring every visitor enjoys a world-class experience.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations of the racecourse, including racing events, hospitality, and venue management
Develop and implement strategic plans to grow revenue and enhance customer satisfaction
Lead, motivate, and manage staff across multiple departments
Ensure compliance with health & safety, licensing, and industry regulations
Build strong relationships with stakeholders, sponsors, and the local community
Drive marketing and promotional initiatives to increase attendance and brand visibility
Manage budgets, financial reporting, and operational efficiency
About You
Proven experience in a senior management role, ideally within sport, leisure, or hospitality
Strong leadership and people management skills
Commercially astute with a track record of driving revenue growth
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
Passion for racing and delivering memorable customer experiences
Flexible, resilient, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
