Location: Wakefield
Salary: Circa £35,000 + Bonus + Tips/Tronc
About the Business:
We’re a popular, growing local bistro and bar in Pontefract, known for our warm atmosphere, great food, and quality drinks. As a key part of the local community, we’re passionate about providing a relaxed, welcoming experience for every guest. With exciting plans for continued growth, we’re now looking for a talented and driven General Manager to lead the team and help shape the next stage of our journey.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the General Manager will oversee the day-to-day running of the venue, ensuring excellent service, efficient operations, and a happy, motivated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take real ownership and make your mark on a thriving, well-loved local business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, inspire, and manage the team to deliver outstanding service.
* Oversee all aspects of operations including service standards, stock control, and financial performance.
* Drive sales and profitability while maintaining quality and consistency.
* Recruit, train, and develop team members to reach their full potential.
* Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and licensing requirements.
* Represent the business with pride and professionalism at all times.
About You:
* Experienced manager with a background in bars, restaurants, or hospitality venues.
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate a team.
* Commercially aware and confident managing budgets and KPIs.
* Passionate about food, drink, and creating memorable guest experiences.
* Organised, proactive, and hands-on in your approach.
