General Yard Operative – Newmarket (Suffolk)
Sector: Environmental & Waste Management
Pay: £12.72 per hour + Overtime at £15.90/hour (after 45 hours/week)
Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm | Monday to Friday | Day Shifts (45 hrs/week)
Own transport required unless local to site

Gap Personnel is recruiting for General Yard Operatives on behalf of a respected employer in the environmental & waste management sector based in Newmarket, Suffolk. If you're a reliable team player who enjoys working outdoors and isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves, this could be the perfect fit.
Key Responsibilities
Loading, unloading, and sorting a wide range of recyclable materials
Operating yard equipment and performing basic machinery checks
Assisting customers and maintaining a safe, tidy site
Following health & safety protocols at all times
Completing basic paperwork and supporting the team as needed
✅ What We’re Looking For
Experience in yard work, construction, or warehouse/manual roles
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
A proactive attitude, with good timekeeping and teamwork skills
Must have own transport (site not accessible via public transport)
