General Yard Operative – Newmarket, Suffolk
Sector: Environmental and Waste Management
Pay: £12.72 per hour, with overtime at £15.90 per hour (after 45 hours per week)
Full-Time , Temp-to-Perm , Monday to Friday ,Day Shifts (45 hours per week)
Own transport required unless living locally

Gap Personnel is recruiting General Yard Operatives on behalf of a respected employer in the environmental and waste management sector based in Newmarket. This role is ideal for someone reliable, hard-working, and comfortable working outdoors.
Key responsibilities
Loading, unloading, and sorting various recyclable materials
Operating yard equipment and carrying out basic machine checks
Assisting customers and helping maintain a safe and organised site
Following all health and safety procedures
Completing basic paperwork and providing general team support
What we are looking for
Experience in yard work, construction, warehouse, or other manual roles
Physically fit and happy to work outside in all weather conditions
A proactive approach with strong timekeeping and teamwork skills
Must have access to transport, as the site is not accessible via public transport
What you will receive
Hourly pay of £12.72, with overtime paid at £15.90 per hour
Monday to Friday work schedule with no weekend shifts
Temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term prospects
Weekly pay, full PPE, and support from the team
