Responsibilities As the Head of Geo-Environmental, your core responsibilities will include: Overseeing and coordinating laboratory and field operations to ensure efficient delivery of services, contributing to overall profitability. Developing, monitoring, and maintaining departmental budgets, operational metrics, and strategies to drive continuous improvement. Leading talent acquisition initiatives, facilitating staff training, and nurturing professional development to create an engaging and supportive workplace culture. Establishing and maintaining trusted client relationships by providing expert guidance and tailored support. Preparing quotations, scrutinizing technical reports, and authorizing key deliverables to ensure superior standards. Ensuring compliance with UKAS, ISO 17025, and other relevant quality frameworks, including the management of audits and implementation of quality assurance systems. Driving adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and industry best practices.Qualifications The ideal candidate for the Head of Geo-Environmental position will demonstrate: Extensive expertise in areas such as ground investigation, contaminated land assessment, materials testing, and waste classification. A degree in a relevant discipline, such as Geology or Environmental Chemistry (preferred). A robust understanding of health and safety requirements, including conducting risk assessments and implementing safe work practices. Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills, coupled with a proactive and professional approach. Flexibility to travel occasionally, with overnight stays when required. A valid UK driving licence.Key Activities Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass: Managing and streamlining site and laboratory operations to facilitate seamless service delivery and operational success. Collaborating with the management and business development teams to identify growth opportunities and foster client engagement. Mentoring and supervising a team of dedicated professionals while cultivating a high-performance ethos. Ensuring that all technical documentation adheres to established quality benchmarks.
