The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Geography Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4. You’ll have the opportunity to spark curiosity, inspire learning, and make a real impact in the classroom. This is a full-time role, starting on a temporary basis with a clear pathway to a permanent contract for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver creative, well-structured geography lessons
Assess, monitor, and support student progress
Contribute to curriculum development within the department
Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student wellbeing and achievement
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
Experience: At least 1–2 years of secondary teaching experience, including solid understanding of the Geography curriculum
Qualifications: A relevant degree in Geography or a related field, plus QTS
Training: Strong classroom management skills and experience with differentiated instruction; understanding of safeguarding
Skills: Excellent communication, organisation, and the ability to inspire and motivate students
Compliance:
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
To be considered for the higher salary band, candidates should also demonstrate:
In-depth experience teaching Geography at GCSE level, with strong results
Leadership experience (e.g., subject lead, curriculum coordinator, or involvement in geography-related extracurriculars)
Evidence of continued professional development or advanced subject-specific training
