We are seeking an inspiring Full-Time Lead Practitioner of Geography to join us from September 2025, someone who is not only a pedagogical expert but also deeply committed to fostering holistic understanding and critical thinking skills in every student.
As Lead Practitioner, you will be instrumental in:
* Modelling Exemplary Practice: Deliver outstanding Geography lessons across KS3, GCSE, and A-Level, showcasing innovative teaching strategies that promote deep learning, curiosity, and a genuine connection to geographical concepts.
* Enhancing Teaching & Learning: Lead initiatives to improve teaching and learning outcomes in Geography, focusing on student engagement, differentiation, and the development of independent learners.
* Building Professional Capacity: Design and deliver tailored professional development for Geography staff, nurturing their expertise and supporting their growth as outstanding educators.
* Curriculum Enrichment: Oversee the development of stimulating extra-curricular Geography opportunities, fostering student passion through clubs, societies, and meaningful local and potentially international fieldwork experiences.
* Promoting Geographical Literacy: Champion the relevance of Geography across the curriculum, working with other departments to ensure students develop strong geographical knowledge and skills that underpin interdisciplinary understanding.
* Contributing to School Culture: Play a vital role in our school’s positive and inclusive ethos, supporting the well-being and academic success of all students and staff within our diverse mixed community.
