Are you a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher looking for a rewarding new challenge? Do you want to use your subject knowledge to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs? Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a qualified Geography Teacher to join a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Northamptonshire.
This is a unique opportunity to teach a subject you love in a supportive, specialist setting where every lesson you deliver has a meaningful impact. You will be teaching pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on delivering engaging, accessible lessons tailored to a variety of learning needs, including autism, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), and moderate learning difficulties.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide differentiated lessons, maintain positive behaviour strategies, and help students develop both academically and personally.
The role includes:
Planning and delivering Geography lessons adapted to individual needs.
Using creative approaches to make Geography relevant and exciting.
Supporting students with a range of SEN through scaffolded learning.
Working collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and therapists.
Contributing to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans.
Ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS).
A background in teaching Geography at KS3/KS4.
A genuine interest in working within an SEN environment (experience preferred but not essential).
Patience, resilience, and a nurturing attitude.
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
