Title: Glue Minder
Salary: £33,000 - £40,000 Depending on experience
Purpose of job:
To ensure the quality and quantity of cartons coming off the line, working in the most efficient manner
Key Accountabilities:
* Make ready the machine
* Ensure the output of the process with regard to speed and quality
* Cartons are produced to the specification required
* All information is accurately recorded on the DCU
* Leading and developing your crew to be successful in their individual roles
* BRC standards are maintained
* All paperwork is completed
* Health and safety procedures are adhered to
* Ensure all preventative maintenance targets are achieved
* Mentor and train new staff as required
Measures:
* Glue lines are made ready in the most efficient manner, adhering to job requirements
* The jobs are run at the optimum speed which is at or above quote speed*
* Cartons are produced that meet the quality standards of the company and the Customer, with no rejects
* The DCU reports accurately information on shift and jobs run
* The crew are all aware of their roles and are competent to complete them
* All paperwork is fully completed and dealt with appropriately
* Health and safety measures are followed, no accidents or incidents
* There are no breaches of the BRC rules
* All preventative maintenance in completed on time and recorded as per company policy
* Meetings are attended, input is given where required and outcomes are actioned
* Knowledge of the machines to understand if and when issues arise
* Results are found to assist with issues that may arise on the machines or with specific jobs
* Issues are solved and a record is made for future reference
*Quote speed is sheets/cartons on the floor, which is between 10% and 20% of the machine speed
Other Duties:
Attend appropriate meetings as required
Full knowledge of the glue machines
Working with the Production and Shift Managers and other colleagues to address issues on the lines
To train colleagues as required to fulfil the business needs
Encourage knowledge flow between colleagues
Plus any other duties consistent with the position as directed.
Skills & Competences:
Good gluing skills
Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask
Strong interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
Strong understanding of the glue process
Good understanding of quality standards
Ability to work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines and handle a wide variety of responsibilities
Treating all internal and external customers with kindness, dignity and respect
Completes compulsory training in approved timescales
Demonstrates satisfactory working relationships and show respect for colleagues
Maintains an acceptable work rate and completes duties in a timely way
Works additional hours, if required, in order to discharge the company’s obligations to its customers
Attends team briefings and training as required
Has good attendance and timekeeping
Acceptable level of personal appearance
