Job Description
My client, an innovative, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for a Flood Risk Consultant to join their growing team of specialist consultants, based near to the lively, industrial city of Newport, South Wales.
Essential Criteria:
A Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, such as Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or similar
Experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and flood mitigation reports
Working knowledge of conducting flood modelling surveys
An understanding of how to interpret flood risk data, using GIS software packages
Experience of presenting flood risk information to clients and other stakeholders
It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Flood Risk Consultant to possess the following:
Strong analytical skills and technical-mindedness
Excellent standard of written English, particularly when applied to report writing
Experience of establishing and building stakeholder relations
In your varied new role of Flood Risk Consultant, you will join a growing team of experts in their respective fields, with a view to developing your career as you progress in your position. The role will involve several interesting responsibilities, including:
Carrying out flood risk surveys to inform assessment, planning, and mitigation
Undertaking flood risk analysis at various sites, with climate change in mind
Conducting surveys to inform planning applications, drainage strategies, and flood management and mitigation plans
Contributing data to the growth and maintenance of company databases
Working on a range of sites, nation-wide
Proactively contributing to team meetings and business development plans
Mentoring junior colleagues
