The Graduate Fire Engineer's Role
The Graduate Fire Engineer will support the delivery of fire engineering projects from early design through to completion. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, the Graduate Fire Engineer will gain exposure to both technical analysis and client-facing activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting in the production of fire strategy reports and supporting documentation
Supporting the specification of fire protection systems such as detection and suppression solutions
Undertaking fire engineering calculations, including smoke modelling and evacuation analysis
Contributing to both simple hand calculations and advanced computational modelling
Reviewing design proposals and identifying potential fire safety challenges
Applying relevant fire safety legislation and guidance with support
Assisting with fire risk assessments where required
Communicating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholdersThe Graduate Fire Engineer
The ideal Graduate Fire Engineer will be technically minded, motivated, and eager to develop within a consultancy environment. The Graduate Fire Engineer will demonstrate strong analytical thinking alongside a proactive and enthusiastic approach.
Requirements include:
A degree in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good organisational and time management abilities
An interest in fire safety design and engineering within the built environment
Experience with Bluebeam or CFD modelling software would be advantageous
