Graduate Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer

The Role
As a Graduate Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer, you'll be involved in the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Drainage Strategies, and the detailed design of drainage systems for residential and commercial developments. You'll work closely with experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience across all project stages.
Key responsibilities include:
·Assisting in the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy Reports.
·Supporting the design of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and foul/water networks using software such as MicroDrainage and AutoCAD.
·Supporting senior staff with project planning, fee proposals, and technical reports.
·Liaising with local authorities, clients, architects, and planning consultants as part of the wider design and planning team.
·Keeping up to date with national planning policy and drainage design standards.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Skills:
·A degree (BEng, BSc, MEng or MSc) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related subject.
·Strong interest in flood risk management and sustainable drainage.
·Familiarity with drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage) and AutoCAD is desirable but not essential-training will be provided.
·Good understanding of the planning system and relevant policy/guidance (e.g., NPPF, CIRIA SuDS Manual) is beneficial.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
·Full UK driving licence (or working towards one) preferred.
