Are you a recent psychology graduate with a passion for working with children and young people? We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Graduate in Psychology Teaching Assistant to join schools in Newport, supporting pupils with a variety of additional learning and behavioural needs.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to take their academic knowledge and apply it in a practical, rewarding setting. As a Graduate in Psychology Teaching Assistant, you’ll support learners on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, helping them regulate emotions, build confidence, and engage positively in the classroom.
What You’ll Be Doing
Providing tailored support for pupils with learning and behavioural challenges
Working closely with teachers to deliver strategies that promote wellbeing and academic success
Supporting pupils with conditions such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, and Sensory Processing difficulties
Creating a calm, inclusive environment where children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn
Using your understanding of psychology to observe behaviours, encourage positive change, and develop pupils’ emotional and social skills
