A Graduate Quantity Surveyor is required for their expanding team
Your Key Activities include
• Assist in preparing subcontract enquiries / quotation comparisons and subcontract documents.
• Assist in the commercial management of subcontractors, including processing payments once authorised by senior management.
• Assist in cost monitoring of site resources.
• Assist in the production of applications for payments in accordance with the conditions of contract.
• Assist in providing commercial advice to the site team by advising and referral to more senior personnel.
• Take part in discussions concerning performance of those elements of a project in which you are involved.
• Manage, supervise and mentor your “reports” within the commercial structure.
• Provide contact with client’s representatives.
• Assistance in the production of monthly cost and value reports, quarterly reports and cash flow information.
• Maintain effective communication with project management, the commercial department and other disciplines.
• Be aware of and provide input to project commercial meetings.
• Provide assistance emanating from staff performance and development review activities.
• Where applicable, be proactive in the progress of objectives in the Company QS training programme including regular contact with appointed DQS.
• Assist in dealing with change management.
• Assist in staff matters as requested.
• Manage time and workloads in a structured manner.
• Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time.
• Understand the principles of insurance and of claims arising and assist as directed by senior management.
Qualifications/Experience
• Bsc Quantity Surveying.
• Basic Knowledge of construction procedures and working methods.
• Evidence of involvement in and basic understanding of construction law, contractual relationships and key contractual requirements associated with a particular project.
