An outstanding SEN school in Greenwich is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of additional needs, including non-verbal communication, autism, and learning difficulties. This is an ideal role for graduates aiming to pursue careers in teaching, educational psychology, or therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN, especially those who are non-verbal
Assist in implementing communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, and assistive technologies (training available)
Support teaching staff in delivering engaging, tailored lessons with a focus on life skills, sensory learning, and emotional regulation
Foster strong relationships with students to build confidence and independence
Work closely with therapists, SENCOs, and the wider school team
Ideal Candidate Profile:
A recent graduate in Psychology, Education Studies, SEN, or a related field
Passionate about supporting children and young people with complex needs
Patient, nurturing, and emotionally resilient
Previous experience (voluntary or paid) in a school, care, or youth work setting is a plus
Willing to support with personal care needs where required
