Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School - September 2025 Start - Temp to Perm - Houghton Regis
Location: Houghton Regis, Bedford
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time (Part-time considered for exceptional candidates)
Daily Rate: £90 (PAYE)

A forward-thinking and inclusive primary school in Houghton Regis is working in partnership with Tradewind Recruitment to appoint a Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant with a focus on supporting pupils with special educational needs, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
This school is in the heart of Houghton Regis and the successful applicant would be actively encouraged to get involved with the wider school community.
There are good public transport links to the school but a driving license would be beneficial if you are travelling from outside of Luton.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school environment and gain valuable experience in the field of education.

In this role, you will:
Work closely with children diagnosed with ASD, providing tailored academic and emotional support
Use creative and differentiated approaches to support individual learning needs
Feedback to parents and SENDCO where appropriate
Create a fun and safe learning environment
Work with several students on a 1-1 basis with a range of special needs
The ideal candidate will:
Hold a degree in Psychology, Education, or a related subject
Demonstrate a genuine interest in working with children with additional needs
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
Be proactive, patient, and adaptable in a classroom setting
Have a sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection practice.
