Job Description

The Role: We are seeking a Surveyor – Asset Management to support the effective stewardship of a nationally diverse portfolio of specialist residential assets. This role is ideal for a graduate or early‑career surveyor who is eager to develop hands‑on technical skills while gaining exposure to real‑world asset management, property inspections, compliance, and building pathology. You will work closely with experienced surveyors and asset managers, supporting the delivery of inspections, monitoring planned and reactive works, reviewing compliance responsibilities, and contributing to small‑scale projects and wider asset management activities. This opportunity offers structured on‑the‑job learning, exposure to multiple surveying disciplines, and support towards professional accreditation (RICS APC). Key Responsibilities: * Assist with cyclical and ad‑hoc property inspections, assessing building condition and compliance. * Support inspections of refurbishment and maintenance works, identifying defects and snagging items. * Help monitor tenant compliance with lease obligations, including full repairing and insuring (FRI) responsibilities. * Contribute to planned maintenance programmes and small‑scale building projects. * Assist with assessments relating to building condition, suitability, and ESG considerations. * Support senior surveyors with dilapidations, insurance reinstatement assessments, and technical reporting. * Prepare inspection reports, schedules of works, photographic records, and briefing notes. * Liaise with contractors, consultants, and managing agents under supervision. * Provide technical and administrative support to the wider Asset Management team. What We’re Looking For: * Degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline. * Working towards or intending to pursue the RICS APC qualification. * Graduate level or up to 2 years’ experience in surveying, housing, property, or construction. * Developing knowledge of the built environment, Building Regulations, and Health & Safety. * Strong written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to learn. * Good IT skills, especially Microsoft Office. * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel. * Interest in residential, social housing, or specialist property assets. (Experience beneficial, not essential.) This Role Offers: * Structured training and development from experienced surveyors. * Exposure to a wide range of surveying disciplines and asset types. * Support towards professional progression and accreditation. * The opportunity to develop meaningful skills within a socially purposeful property environment.
