Graduate Teaching Assistant - Waltham Forest

The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised support to students with a variety of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language challenges. Your role will combine classroom support, mentoring, and behaviour management, working closely with teachers and the school's SENCO to help every child thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
Provide mentoring and guidance to help students manage behaviour and develop social skills
Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored learning interventions
Support a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Track, monitor, and report on student progressIdeal Candidates
Graduates with a degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field
Passionate about supporting students with additional learning needs
Keen to gain hands-on experience in mentoring, behaviour support, and classroom teaching
Enthusiastic, resilient, and compassionate
Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essentialRequirements
Bachelor's degree (minimum 2:2)
Strong commitment to supporting pupils with SEN
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)What We Offer
