Graduate Town Planner - Cheltenham
Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 (DOE) + excellent benefits and progression opportunities
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for shaping communities and influencing the built environment? I'm working with a highly respected planning consultancy based in Cheltenham, and they're looking to bring on board a driven and ambitious Graduate Town Planner to support their growing portfolio of exciting projects across the South West and beyond.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to kick-start their planning career in a supportive, dynamic environment where you'll gain hands-on experience, work closely with experienced planners, and progress toward chartered status (RTPI support included).
What You'll Be Doing:
Assisting in the preparation, submission, and management of planning applications.
Conducting site appraisals and supporting senior planners in providing strategic planning advice.
Researching local planning policy and contributing to planning statements and reports.
Engaging with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
Attending site visits, planning committees, and public consultations.
What We're Looking For:
A degree (or master's) in Town Planning or a related subject (RTPI accredited preferred).
A genuine interest in UK planning policy and the built environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Eagerness to learn and progress toward MRTPI status.
Ideally, some experience from a placement, internship, or previous role (but not essential).
