INTRODUCTION
As a Grid Connection Manager, you will be managing projects related to interaction between users (PV, battery storage, windfarms & etc.) and the grid, and ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently (within scope, cost and time). Act as the focal point for technical, commercial and regulatory issues surrounding grid compliance, and grid connection for transmission and distribution networks.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Strong technical knowledge of HV and MV connection work in Poland
Strong knowledge of the requirement for grid code compliance, TSO/DNO connection procedure and administrative authorizations required for connection of renewable plants in the Polish market
Manage Technical Advisors and Consultants to support Grid and Delivery related activities across Poland
Provide the cost estimates and grid connection delivery timescales to business development teams
Manage and be responsible for the process of grid applications ensuring they are submitted in a timely manner and progress through the DNO/TSO and National processes without delay.
Negotiate and develop grid connections design that reduce installation time and cost whilst maintaining or improving plant.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the TSO/DNO design and delivery teams ensuring the company's projects progressing smoothly through the project life cycle.
Review the technical designs submitted by HV/MV contractors or EPCs to company requirements and to achieve cost efficiency without compromising quality,
Be responsible for "grid intelligence" and implementation of new connection methods arising from the Polish TSO/DNOs policy changes and changing industry standards,
Develop and maintain relationships with HV/MV contractors and EPCs to drive performance and ensure they deliver their services,
Develop and maintain relationships with the Polish TSO's and DNOs' design and delivery teams ensuring projects progressing smoothly through the project lifecycle,
Negotiate and develop grid connections design that reduce installation time and cost whilst maintaining or improving plant performance,
Proven Managerial skills
POSITION IN COMPANY OPERATIONAL STRUCTURE
Reports to: Project Manager, Project Director
Liaises with: Subcontractors, Construction Managers, Project Manager
Subordinate Positions: HV Engineers,
Substituted by: Other Grid Connection Manager
REQUIRED SKILLS
Provide technical assistance during project development and ensure the factors influencing and influenced by the grid connection are considered,
Carry out technical due diligence and risk assessment on grid connection conditions/agreements offered by the Polish TSO and DNOs (Terna and Enel),
Manage Technical Advisors and Consultants to support Grid and Delivery related activities across Poland
Develop and maintain relationships with the Polish TSO and DNOs to support the grid application and delivery process,
Manage and be responsible for the process of grid applications ensuring they are submitted in a timely manner. Progress through the Polish TSO's, DNOs' and national requirementsand processes without delay.
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
5+ years involvement in medium to large-scale (10-50 MW) interconnections of power generation projects
Participation in and leading interconnection processes in Poland
Strong ties to key industry players
Knowledge of market-standard construction and equipment costs
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL
University Degree in Electrical Power Systems and/or Electrical Engineering
Excellent use of Polish and English Language
Excellent use of Microsoft Office suite
Candidates with additional qualification in renewable energy (especially RES) would be advantageousBefore You Apply
