We have a new opportunity for a Connections Development Manager to join our Battery Box Development Team. You will lead and manage all aspects of grid connection activities for projects connecting to the GB distribution and transmission networks, working closely with the Connections Manager to support a diverse and growing portfolio of energy projects across the UK. In addition to grid connections, the role also offers opportunities to be involved in other key areas of development within the Battery Team, such as site identification, supporting planning applications, and working on legal agreements with landowners. The role will involve: Grid Application Management: Prepare and submit grid connection applications to DNOs, IDNOs, and National Grid ESO Maintain up-to-date knowledge of application requirements, connection codes, and relevant regulations Offer Review and Cost Engineering: Review and interpret connection offers, identifying errors, risks, and opportunities for cost savings Liaise with technical experts to evaluate technical and commercial terms of offers Project Tracking and Delivery: Monitor and report progress from application through to energisation Coordinate with network operators, contractors, and internal teams for timely delivery Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate project information in internal systems Provide regular updates to the Development team and senior management Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the main contact for all grid connection matters with external stakeholders Represent company interests in industry workshops, meetings, and consultations Support Development Team: Assess site suitability through mapping tools and feasibility studies Assist in identifying new opportunities and assessing project potential Engage with landowners and agents to secure land for projects Negotiate landowner agreements Perform additional duties relevant to the level of the role What we are looking for: A passionate and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, bringing the following experience and skills: Deep understanding of GB distribution and transmission networks and connection processes Familiarity with the Distribution Code and key Engineering Recommendations (G99, G100, P28, G5) Knowledge of the Connection and Use of System Code (CUSC) Strong IT skills with ability to learn industry-specific software quickly Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines Enthusiasm for renewable energy and low-carbon technologies Self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient under pressure Strong interpersonal skills for working with colleagues and stakeholders What we offer: We foster a culture based on honesty, collaboration, and enjoyment, with a workplace where everyone feels heard and valued.
