Job Description
Our client, a leading provider in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a skilled Grinder to join their team on a permanent basis. This role involves performing high-precision grinding operations on aircraft components using cylindrical and surface grinding machines, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate all types of grinding machines to fine limits
Work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
Read and understand technical drawings
Work with cylindrical and surface grinding machines
Maintain awareness and understanding of company environmental procedures
Maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book
Train personnel within a specified area, subject to qualifications and experience
Comply with safety and environmental regulations and company procedures
Job Requirements:
Experience in machining, particularly with internal and external grinding machines
Preferred background in aerospace, although not essential
Knowledge of CNC grinding is advantageous
Education and Qualifications:
Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent
Fluent in written and spoken English
Personal Qualities:
Initiative and strong analytical skills
Good communication skills and ability to interact with various levels of management
Planning, organisation, and administrative abilities, with PC literacy
Ability to maintain performance under pressure and solve problems effectively
Strong team player with a willingness to learn and pass on knowledge
Working Conditions:
Flexibility in working hours, including occasional overtime at weekends
Contact with various greases and oils
Training and use of overhead cranes
Understanding of manual handling techniques
Use of hand and power tools, as well as complex machinery
Right to live and work in the UK unrestricted
Mandatory training will be provided
