Job Description
Grinding Machine Operator- Buckinghamshire
Pertemps Aylesbury is currently recruiting for a Grinding Machine Operator for Engineering client based in Buckinghamshire.
The ideal worker responsible for setting up and operating grinding and other machines, mainly to remove material from metal workpieces, achieving desired surface finishes and dimensions by utilising abrasive wheels, while adhering to quality standards and safety protocols; tasks include loading parts, monitoring grinding process, adjusting machine settings, performing quality checks, and maintaining equipment cleanliness.
Hours: 8am-4pm (36.5 hours a week)
Salary: £13.17 - £14.00 per hour
Duties:
Machine setup: Prepare grinding machines by selecting the appropriate grinding wheels, setting grinding speeds and feed rates, aligning workpieces, and securing fixtures according to specifications.
Grinding operation: Operate grinding machines to remove material from workpieces, achieving desired tolerances and surface finishes.
Quality control: Regularly inspect workpieces during grinding to ensure compliance with quality standards, including dimensional checks and surface finish evaluation.
Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks on grinding machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn grinding wheels.
Requirements:
- Previous experience using setting up machinery/ operating grinding machinery
- Your own transport due to the location
