Job Description

Grounds Maintenance Operative Location: UK & Ireland (extensive travel required) Salary: £28,000 + Company Vehicle + Travel Expenses + Benefits About the Role: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative with a passion for environmental work to join our dedicated team maintaining reed bed treatment systems across various client sites in the UK and Ireland. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is physically fit, and is happy to travel extensively as part of a dynamic, field-based operations team. Key Responsibilities: Conduct scheduled maintenance and inspections of reed bed systems. Manage vegetation control – including reed cutting, strimming, and weed suppression. Monitor and maintain water flow systems and drainage channels. Ensure reed beds remain functional, tidy and compliant with environmental standards. Complete site reports and log maintenance activity. Liaise with clients professionally and ensure a high standard of service delivery. What We’re Looking For: Experience in grounds or environmental maintenance (preferably reed beds or similar wetland systems) – however full training will be provided Comfortable working in rural, remote, and outdoor environments in all weather conditions. Ability to work independently and as part of a small mobile team. Full UK driving licence (essential – company van provided). CSCS card, Chainsaw, Strimmer, or Brush Cutter qualifications (desirable). Basic understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices.
