Job Description
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for experienced Pipelayers to join our groundwork teams on busy project in Hailsham. You will play a key role in the installation of drainage systems and underground pipework, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to specification.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Laying and installing drainage pipes (clay, plastic and concrete)
* Setting out and working to levels and falls from drawings and laser equipment
* Installing manholes, chambers and associated drainage structures
* Benching, concreting and surrounding pipework
* Carrying out deep drainage and trench work
* Ensuring correct alignment and gradient of pipelines
* Working closely with machine operators and groundwork teams
* Reading and interpreting drawings and technical specifications
* Maintaining high health & safety standards at all times
REQUIREMENTS:
* CSCS Skilled Worker Blue Card(essential)
* Proven experience as a Pipelayer in drainage and groundworks
* Strong understanding of drainage systems, levels and gradients
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Good awareness of site health & safety practices
* Reliable, punctual and able to work well within a team
* Right to work in the UK
DESIRABLE:
* CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) tickets*
* Confined Spaces Training
* Deep drainage experience
* Experience working with laser levels
* Dumper / Roller / Excavator tickets
* 5–10+ years of groundwork or pipelaying experience
* Established gangs or teams with proven ability to work together
* Please note: to comply with client requirements, we can only accept NPORS cards that are CSCS-affiliated and carry the CSCS hologram. If you do not currently meet this requirement, please still get in touch – we are happy to guide you through the transfer process.
