Location: North Cardiff / Caerphilly

Overview
A well‑established groundworks and civil engineering contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Groundworks Ganger to lead a team on long‑term projects across the North Cardiff and Caerphilly areas. This role offers stability, progression, and the option of a permanent or temp‑to‑perm route.
The Role
You will oversee groundworkers on a variety of residential and civils projects, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required standards. You’ll coordinate day‑to‑day tasks, support site progress, and maintain quality across all groundwork operations.
Experience Required
We are looking for candidates with experience gained through reputable groundworks or civil engineering contractors, particularly those involved in large‑scale housing developments and associated infrastructure. Suitable experience would typically include:
  * Foundations, drainage installation, ducting, service trenches, and concrete works
  * Roads, footpaths, kerbing, edgings, paving and external works
  * Work on residential developments, from initial excavation through to works up to DPC level
  * Delivering groundworks packages for major house‑building or infrastructure projects
Key Responsibilities
  * Supervising and coordinating groundworkers on active sites
  * Maintaining all site health & safety standards
  * Ensuring quality, productivity, and timely delivery of works
  * Liaising with site management and supporting project progression
  * Overseeing day‑to‑day activity on housing and civils‑related groundworks
Requirements
  * SSSTS or SMSTS (essential)
  * Strong background in groundworks within housing and roads/civils projects
  * Proven ability to lead teams and maintain safe working practices
  * Full UK driving licence
