Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Groundworks Quantity Surveyor to join our client. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs and ensuring financial efficiency throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control measures and the ability to collaborate effectively with various colleagues & clients.
Duties
• Prepare detailed cost estimates
• Monitor project budgets and expenditures, implementing cost control measures as necessary.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and verify that work is being completed according to specifications.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on project goals and financial targets.
• Prepare and submit progress reports, detailing financial status and any potential issues that may arise.
• Assist in the procurement process by evaluating tenders and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
Experience
• A degree or similar in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
• Proven experience in cost control within the construction industry is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, enabling accurate financial assessments.
• Experience in JCT Contracts
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications for cost estimation and project management.
