Group Engineering Manager
Thornsett
£75,000 to £90,000 DOE + 20 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Pension + Onsite Parking + Travel Mileage
40 Hours per Week Monday to Friday (Flexible Start/Finish Times)
Group Engineering Manager required for a leading manufacturing business with a well-established company history of over 35 years and a global distribution network.
The successful candidate will be joining a company at an exciting time as they continue to expand and invest in their equipment.
The Group Engineering Manager Role:
· Lead and develop a multi-disciplined engineering team across the Group's manufacturing facilities.
· Drive a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and company standards.
· Develop and implement engineering strategies to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and production performance.
· Manage preventative and predictive maintenance programmes to maximise plant uptime and reduce maintenance costs.
· Lead capital expenditure projects including equipment installation, automation initiatives, facility improvements and process optimisation.
· Manage engineering budgets, contractor relationships and procurement of engineering services and equipment.
· Provide technical leadership and support during complex breakdowns and operational issues.
· Ensure engineering documentation, risk assessments and maintenance records are maintained to a high standard.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, energy efficiency and operational performance.
· Develop engineering team capability through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
· Role primarily based at Thornsett with regular travel to Group sites in Stalybridge and Wrexham.
The Group Engineering Manager Candidate:
· Qualified in an Engineering discipline (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
· Electrically biased or multi-skilled with strong knowledge of manufacturing plant and equipment.
· Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams within a manufacturing environment.
· Demonstrable experience of engineering budget management and capital project delivery.
· Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise activities in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience implementing preventative maintenance and reliability improvement programmes.
· Strong understanding of health and safety requirements including risk assessment, contractor control and safe systems of work.
· Commercially aware with the ability to balance operational requirements against cost and business objectives.
· Capable of making effective decisions under pressure and leading engineering teams through complex operational challenges.
