Are you an inspirational Quality Manager with experience of managing multi-sites and driving innovation and best practice across the quality function?
As Group Quality Manager you will have the autonomy to influence at a strategic level across quality at both the manufacturing site the UK as well as subsidiaries in the Far East, USA and EU.
You will be pivotal in supporting the senior team to shape the vision for quality, identifying ways to drive changes that impact of cost of quality and lead and drive a cultural change to the way quality is approached.
Working on often bespoke products on a project basis (from concept design stage through to quality support during production stage of program) you have a wide remit and a high degree of autonomy. This will include leading, inspiring and directing a small team of Quality Engineers (across the sites) to maximize performance and development.
As Group Quality Manager your key accountabilities will encompass:
Leading the direction and strategy of quality across the group both in the UK and internationally, but also have the capability to deliver the road map you have outlined
Managing, leading and coaching a small team of Quality Engineers in the UK, far East, USA and EU sites.
Working with cross functional teams in design, procurement and manufacturing to drive innovation on quality and ensure lesson learnt / failure mode avoidance is fed back and built into all new products / processes.
Using lean tools such as APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) to ensure customer requirements are consistently delivered on time to specification.
Ensuring compliance to the company’s procedures and quality systems
Analysing Cost of Quality - Measure and report on Quality as well as validate capacity performance within the manufacturing area and supply chain by setting clear key performance indicators
Managing the Quality Management system (ISO9001) – both maintaining but also enhancing quality procedures
Main point of contact for internal audits and manage external accreditation and supplier audits
Leadership of Supplier Development activities together with purchasingTo succeed as the Group Quality Manager role, you’ll likely:
Have an in-depth background and knowledge of quality standards and systems gained within a mechanical / electro-mechanical or closely related production / manufacturing environment.
The ability to innovate and drive tangible change in quality (not just maintain compliance)
Experience of working to ISO9001 / and other highly regulated industries
Multi-site experience is highly advantageous
And first-class leadership, communication and influencing skills are essential Likely to suit individuals with a background as (but not limited to) Quality Manager, Head of Quality, Quality Assurance Manager, Head of Quality, Quality & Engineering Leader, Quality Engineering Manager or Group Quality Manager OR similar
