Job Title: Senior Guidewire Consultant – Insurance Technology
Location: Hybrid (UK-based – 2–3 days onsite as required)
Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)
Day Rate: 900 (Inside IR35)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Guidewire Consultant to support a major insurance technology transformation programme. This role involves hands-on leadership across application support, client engagement, project delivery, and systems integration using the Guidewire platform.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to lead application implementation, optimize support processes, and guide successful transformation initiatives within the general insurance domain.
Key Responsibilities
Guidewire & Technology Expertise
* Provide deep knowledge of Guidewire Core applications (ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, and BillingCenter).
* Support the configuration and integration of Guidewire InsuranceSuite, Data Products, and Digital Products.
* Develop and deliver Application Maintenance and Support (AMS) strategies for Guidewire implementations.
* Align support models with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and ITIL best practices.
* Ensure effective collaboration with infrastructure, architecture, and operations teams.
Client Engagement
* Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
* Act as a key liaison for gathering client requirements and communicating delivery progress.
* Manage shifting priorities and escalate risks or constraints when necessary.
Consulting & Delivery Leadership
* Lead insurance engagement workstreams with a strong focus on quality and outcomes.
* Apply structured problem-solving, project planning, and stakeholder communication.
* Leverage tools such as MS Office, JIRA, and project management platforms
Communication & Reporting
* Deliver clear, concise documentation and stakeholder updates.
* Manage knowledge repositories and stay current with industry trends.
* Assist in proposal writing and support business development initiatives.
Executive Engagement
* Present ideas and recommendations to senior leadership and executives.
* Translate technical challenges into business impact and contribute to strategic roadmaps.
* Lead large-scale implementation efforts across complex project environments.
Programme & Practice Management
* Oversee engagement administration, resource planning, and budget tracking.
* Ensure delivery milestones are met across multiple streams.
* Support practice development initiatives and contribute to process improvements.
Required Experience & Skills
* Strong background in the insurance industry and Guidewire applications (Claims, Policy, Billing).
* Proven experience in IT service delivery, AMS, and digital transformation.
* Knowledge of ITIL, DevOps, and cloud-based architecture is a plus.
* Experience presenting to senior executives and leading client workshops.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
