Health & Safety Manager – Construction Fit-Out / Car Park works

Contract Type: Freelance / Fixed-Term

Locations: Weybridge

Duration: 8 weeks

Start Date: Immediately

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to support a £1.5m construction fit‑out and refurbishment project. This role is essential in ensuring that all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with current legislation, industry standards, and client expectations.

Our client is delivering a substantial £45m framework of small to medium distribution centre refurbishments throughout 2026, with scope varying across each scheme. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a high‑profile programme of works.

Key Responsibilities

  * Develop, implement and monitor site‑specific Health & Safety plans.

  * Carry out regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments.

  * Ensure full compliance with CDM Regulations, HSE requirements and internal company procedures.

  * Provide clear guidance, support and training to site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders.

  * Lead incident investigations, produce detailed reports and implement corrective actions.

  * Act as the primary point of contact for all Health & Safety matters on site.

Requirements

  * NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent); IOSH membership desirable.

  * Valid CSCS Card.

  * Strong background in construction and fit‑out projects, ideally within industrial or commercial environments.

  * Excellent understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice.

  * Confident communicator with strong leadership and organisational skills.

  * Ability to work independently and manage Health & Safety across multiple teams.
