Are you a reliable, skilled Handyperson with a proven track record and a valid DBS Certificate? We need you to join our dedicated maintenance team, specifically supporting the Halls of Residence in Kingston!
The Role & Opportunity:
This is a key temporary role ensuring our student accommodation remains safe, functional, and welcoming. You will be responsible for general maintenance and repairs, working closely with the residence team to keep the halls running smoothly.
Location: Static site work across the Halls of Residence in Kingston.
Hours: Reliable Monday to Friday day shifts (perfect work-life balance).
Pay: Competitive rate of £18 per hour.
Team: Working as a vital part of the established maintenance and residential team.
Key Duties:
Carrying out minor plumbing, carpentry (e.g., hanging doors, fixing shelves), and basic electrical repairs (e.g., changing lamps/fittings).
Addressing general fabric maintenance and making good on walls and surfaces.
Responding quickly and efficiently to maintenance requests from students and staff.
Assisting with room setup and preparation between academic terms.
Essential Requirements:
Proven Experience: Demonstrable skills in a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks.
Clean DBS Certificate (Essential - current and enhanced).
Reliable & Trustworthy: Ability to work independently and interact professionally with students and university staff.
A proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
