Job Title: Maintenance Operative (Temporary - 4 Weeks)
Location: Bognor Regis
Pay Rate: £14.50 - £15.50 per hour (PAYE) or £18.50 - £22.00 per hour (CIS)
Duration: 4 Weeks (Immediate Start)
Hours: 10am – 6.30pm Monday and Friday, 7.30am – 5.30pm Tuesday - Friday
About the Role
We are looking for a multi-skilled Maintenance Operative to join our facilities team in Bognor Regis for a four-week temporary contract. This is a fast-paced role supporting day-to-day repairs and operational needs across residential areas, commercial spaces, and seasonal attractions.
The ideal candidate will be a "jack-of-all-trades" capable of handling everything from basic plumbing and carpentry to painting and groundskeeping with minimal disruption to guests.
Key Responsibilities
* Plumbing & Repairs: Fixing dripping taps, unblocking sinks, and repairing/replacing toilets and cisterns.
* Carpentry & Assembly: Installing shelves, curtain rails, and door ironmongery; assembling furniture and performing basic cabinet repairs.
* Decorating: Carrying out minor painting, sanding, filling, and mastic works to maintain high standards of housekeeping.
* Electrical & Safety: Replacing light bulbs, fuses, and fixtures while ensuring all isolations are handled safely.
* Groundskeeping: Assisting with basic gardening, gutter clearance, and external cleaning to prepare for changeable weather.
* Compliance: Following all H&S procedures, including COSHH and manual handling, and ensuring appropriate cordons are used during works.
What We Are Looking For
* Proven Experience: Demonstrated background in plumbing, carpentry, and painting/decorating.
* Problem Solver: Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work independently to prioritize a busy workload.
* Safety Conscious: A solid understanding of Risk Assessments and Health & Safety procedures.
* Flexibility: A flexible approach to working hours to meet operational demands and "seasonal attraction" needs.
* Professionalism: A guest-focused mindset with good communication skills.
Requirements
* Ability to interpret technical drawings or instructions.
* Experience in a resort or commercial facilities environment is highly desirable.
* Must have a "can-do" attitude to support the wider projects team and leadership.
