Pure Care are actively recruiting for a Maintenance Worker or Handyman to join the team at a lovely Elderly Care Home in the Godalming area on a full time, permanent contract. This will be working Monday to Friday (37.5 hours) over 4 or 5 days, with flexible shifts to suit the successful applicant.

As the full-time Maintenance Worker / Handyman you will take responsibility for resolving any home maintenance concerns promptly, ensuring that the care home is a clean and well-maintained environment. Key duties will include PPM and reactive work, ranging from fire alarm tests through to basic plumbing and decorating duties.
Our client is an attractive 35 bedded Care Home specialising in elderly care with a great reputation. The Care Home is located just a short walk from a train station and bus stop, and the home also offers free on-site parking.
As the Care Home Handyman you will have a good knowledge of the relevant health and safety regulations, and have the ability to assess and manage risk. Importantly, you must also have the ability to work on your own initiative and address potential issues as they may arise before they affect the daily running of the Care Home.
You will be working for an established family-owned care company with a strong history of supporting and developing their staff. In return they can offer a friendly working environment, yearly pay reviews and many other incentives!
Care Home Handyman responsibilities
* PPM and Reactive work carried out in accordance to the Care Home’s procedures and quality standards.
* Ensure that a safe environment is maintained at all times within the Home, recording and reporting any incidents and hazards/ faults.
* Carry out all required tests and checks for various systems of the care home on weekly, monthly and annual basis. (E.g. Fire alarm checks, Legionella flushing etc)
Care Home Handyman skills/experience
* Good general property maintenance knowledge and skills
* Prior experience as a Maintenance Assistant, Handyman or Maintenance Worker is preferred
* Relevant qualification such as Carpentry, Plumbing or Maintenance (Beneficial but not essential)
