Job Description

Hazard Review Coordinator (Contract) – Water Industry | Reading | 6+ Months We're working with a prestigious global consultancy that's just secured a huge contract in the water industry. Due to this major win, we're looking for an experienced Hazard Review Coordinator to join their team in Reading on a minimum 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension. This role involves coordinating all aspects of hazard review studies, systematically identifying and assessing direct risks to water quality across water treatment works. You'll work closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure effective planning, execution, and governance of risk assessments. Key Responsibilities: Organise and attend site visits and risk assessment workshops, capturing detailed notes and minutes. Coordinate and support multi-disciplinary engineering teams throughout each phase of the hazard review process. Maintain project controls and governance documentation to ensure consistency and compliance. Support further investigations and the development of mitigation strategies for identified water quality risks. Chair risk review meetings and liaise with stakeholders from operations and water quality teams. Present findings to internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of risk exposure and mitigation priorities. Track and coordinate the production of scopes of work to address key public health risks identified through reviews. Skills & Experience: 2–3 years of experience in the water industry, ideally in a technical, public health, or risk management capacity. Experience coordinating technical or engineering programmes, preferably within a regulated environment. Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies, particularly HAZOP-style reviews, is highly desirable. Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders. Confidence in chairing meetings, taking accurate notes, and presenting findings to varied audiences. A proactive and detail-oriented approach, capable of maintaining governance and tracking progress across multiple sites. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with engineers, public health professionals, and operational teams. Qualifications: Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., environmental science, engineering, public health). Actively working towards chartered status with a relevant professional institution. Training or experience in risk assessment methodologies (e.g., HAZOP) would be advantageous.
