Job Description
Our client is looking for a passionate and experienced Head or Senior Chef to take the lead in their kitchen operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional with strong kitchen management skills. If this looks like you, we would love to hear from you.
What’s on Offer?
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £18 per hour (based on a 55–60-hour week)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 6:00pm
Location: East Sussex
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of daily kitchen operations
Oversee ordering, stock control, and supplier coordination
Maintain kitchen paperwork, hygiene standards, and food safety compliance
Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure high performance
Plan and contribute to menu development, including future BBQ/smokehouse offerings
Support in occasional evening/weekend shifts for holiday or sickness cover
Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements:
Proven experience in kitchen management and leading a team
Level 3 qualification in professional cookery or equivalent
Knowledge or interest in BBQ/smokehouse cooking is a bonus
Strong organisational and communication skills
