About the Role
As Head of Applied Science, you will lead a dedicated team in delivering high-quality BTEC Science courses. You will be responsible for curriculum leadership, staff development, and ensuring outstanding outcomes for students across Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Applied Science department.
Lead the planning, delivery, and assessment of BTEC Science courses.
Support and develop teaching staff to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
Monitor student progress and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Contribute to whole-school initiatives and leadership.Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Substantial experience teaching BTEC Science.
Proven leadership or middle management experience within a science department.
Strong understanding of vocational education and assessment.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.Desirable
Experience in curriculum development and quality assurance for BTEC qualifications.
