Are you a visionary and inspiring Art & Design Teacher with the ability to ignite creativity and artistic expression, ready to lead a dynamic department? An Outstanding girls' school in Islington is looking for a fantastic permanent, full-time Head of Art & Design to join their Creative Arts faculty this September. This is a wonderful opportunity to shape the artistic direction of the school, lead a talented team, and cultivate students' artistic talents and appreciation for diverse art forms across all key stages.
What you'll be doing:
* You'll be designing and delivering engaging Art & Design lessons, covering a wide range of mediums, techniques, and historical periods.
* As Head of Art & Design, you will lead, manage, and develop the department, overseeing curriculum design, exhibitions, and extracurricular artistic programmes.
* It's about encouraging creativity, active exploration, and individual expression through drawing, painting, sculpture, and other visual arts.
What we're looking for:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in Art & Design.
* Proven experience teaching engaging and effective Art & Design lessons at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
* Significant experience in a leadership or second-in-department role within an Art & Design department.
* Strong artistic ability and a broad knowledge of art history and contemporary art.
* Excellent communication skills, strong team leadership abilities, and a genuine passion for inspiring artistic talent and excellence.
