Head of Assessment Delivery (Construction)
Remote | £50,000 - £70,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Construction EPA is looking for a dynamic, senior leader to head up our Assessment Delivery division during a transformative growth phase. Following our recent acquisition by AQA, one of the UK’s most trusted awarding bodies. We are expanding our national footprint, increasing our market share, and further cementing our place as the go-to EPAO for the Construction and Built Environment sector.

The Role – What You’ll Be Doing
As Head of Assessment Delivery, you’ll be the driving force behind how assessments are planned, delivered, and managed across our nationwide network. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be accountable for the performance, quality, and consistency of assessment operations.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Leadership & Team Development
*
Lead a team of Centre Managers and Trade Area Lead Assessors
*
Coach, support and develop your team to deliver against KPIs
*
Implement succession planning and build a culture of performance and accountability
Operational Oversight
*
Ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of apprenticeship assessments
*
Oversee centre quality, performance, and capacity planning
*
Deliver timely assessment outcomes and ensure service levels are consistently met
*
Project manage the launch of new assessment centres and bays
Brand & Client Experience
*
Ensure the Construction EPA brand and learner experience is consistently represented across all sites
*
Support commercial reputation by ensuring we deliver on our promises
Collaboration & Technical Expertise
*
Work closely with colleagues in Quality, Development, and Client Services
*
Provide construction-specific advice on assessment content, webinar delivery, and centre design
*
Embed regulatory and assessment plan changes across assessment delivery
This is a high-impact leadership role at the operational heart of a business on the rise.
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll bring deep construction knowledge, a passion for vocational training, and proven leadership experience within apprenticeships or EPA.
You should have:
*
A strong construction background
*
Proven leadership experience within construction apprenticeships
*
A track record of managing large, distributed assessment teams
*
Experience working with stakeholders such as CITB, BACH, AELP
*
A construction-related qualification
*
Assessing, teaching or verification qualifications
*
A leadership/management qualification (desirable)
You’ll be passionate about developing people, scaling systems, and championing excellence in apprenticeship assessment.
