Head of Commercial Real Estate Loan Servicing (Germany)
Location: Frankfurt or Paris

To effectively manage the Loan Management teams handling of Solutus' portfolio of German commercial real estate loans.
We are looking to engage with suitable candidates who meet the requirements of being / becoming a "Qualified Person", to meet this an individual must demonstrate that they have the following:-
Hold a relevant German degree (typically Law or Finance) or relevant professional qualification and past professional occupation. This requires a certificate on the successful completion of an expert course or law degree which covers civil, commercial, securities, corporate and civil procedure law.
Proof of theoretical and practical competence of the relevant person with respect to the performance of Collection Services. The relevant person needs to be able to demonstrate that they have worked under guidance or to have had practical professional education for 2 years.
Hold a certificate of good conduct and a declaration whether insolvency proceedings are pending or whether with the last three years prior to the registration application the relevant person was registered in the list of debtors. And a declaration whether within the last three years prior to the registration application a registration or admission of the relevant person as lawyer was denied, cancelled or repealed or whether the relevant person was excluded from the bar.
Key Tasks
Manage the respective LM team to ensure a high level of service to clients along with strong internal controls.
Analysis of loan, security, and deal documentation both from a mechanical and commercial perspective.
Manage the Fee Quote/Proposal process including review of new loan information from lenders, preparation of the Fee Quote, ongoing negotiations, and final sign-off with the Group Head of Servicing and/or Managing Director, if necessary.
Oversee the coordination of document execution from a Solutus perspective for new loan closings.
Monitoring of the on-boarding processes for new loans and completion of Closing Checklist.
Review and sign-off on initial borrower/client notices, external investor/lender reports and payments while ensuring further delegation of such tasks to senior loan managers.

Effectively manage the Borrower Bank Account process and work on plan for delegating processes to Senior Loan Managers and Loan Ops where appropriate.
Provide support, advice, and answers to senior loan managers regarding more complex queries that arise on loans.
Mentor and advise senior loan managers where appropriate with the aim of enabling them to handle queries more autonomously in the future.
Client liaison on loan closings and ongoing complex loan matters including additional fee proposals.
Ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the task trackers within the task tracking software while ensuring further delegation to the senior loan managers.
Ensure effective policies and procedures are created, implemented, and regularly assessed and updated.
Collaborate with the Risk department to ensure appropriate controls and systems are in place to mitigate risks associated with servicing.
Ensure adequate resourcing and recruitment of appropriately qualified staff to meet the servicing requirements of the portfolio.
Provide training and mentoring to new members of the LM team.
Provide regular performance feedback to Senior Loan Managers including periodic performance appraisals and the setting and monitoring of objectives and training requirements.
Relationship management activities with existing German lending clients including participation in regular meetings with other Heads of Servicing and MD.
Maintain a detailed understanding of the German CRE Finance market.
Participate in the New Business Committee with senior management in the identification of new clients, development of new business proposals and participation in pitches/presentations.
Serve as, or work toward becoming, the Qualified Person for the German debt collections licence, ensuring regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to maintain the company's eligibility under the German regulatory framework for debt collection activities.
Preparation and delivery of presentations and other information to clients, rating agencies and other professional firms.Essential Skills & Experience
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in CRE loan servicing.
* Proficiency in German.
* Experience in supervising and mentoring a team of loan managers.
* Eligible or able to become the Qualified Person for the German debt collections licence (ZAG); BaFin registration is preferred but not required.
* An awareness of the 3 lines of defence model of risk management.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment running multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
* Positive attitude and commitment to complete tasks on time.
* Motivated to learn new skills and continue personal and professional development.
* Ability to communicate with all members of the team, senior management, and external stakeholders.
* Robust written and oral communication skills.
* Strong level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Team Player and the ability to work independently.
* Good knowledge of MS Office including intermediate level Excel competency
