Job Description

Head of Communications I Engineering Group I Hampshire We’re representing a market-leading engineering group seeking a confident and strategic Head of Communications to join their senior leadership team. This is a high-impact role for someone who can move seamlessly between boardroom strategy and hands-on delivery, ensuring messaging lands with clarity and influence at every level of the organisation. You’ll take ownership of the internal communications agenda – shaping and rolling out initiatives that engage a diverse, global workforce and align with business transformation goals. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of an internal communications strategy aligned to organisational objectives. Partner with the Board, Executive Leadership Team, and Senior Leadership Team to position them as visible, effective communicators. Own and manage the Group’s SharePoint intranet, ensuring it is engaging, well-structured, and up to date. Create high-quality, tailored content for newsletters, campaigns, announcements, and multi-channel internal platforms. Deliver communications that align with corporate strategy and resonate with both office-based and frontline teams. Oversee key corporate events, from town halls to internal conferences. Provide leadership on sensitive and crisis communications, ensuring messaging is consistent and timely. Use data and feedback to refine communications and improve engagement. This position will be partnering with executives on board-level communications to managing the company’s SharePoint site, you’ll ensure every piece of content is purposeful, consistent, and audience-led. Skills & Experience Required: Proven track record in leading internal communications at a senior level, ideally within a multi-site or global business. Experience working directly with senior leadership, including influencing and challenging where needed. Strong organisational skills with the ability to balance planned activity and rapid-response communications. Excellent written English, grammar, and editorial skills, with the ability to distil complex messages. SharePoint or similar experience is essential, including content creation and site management. Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related discipline. Confident in managing multiple projects and deadlines. Collaborative and resilient, with the presence to operate at board level.
