Head of Content - Insurance Innovators
📍 London (Hybrid) | 💰 £45,000 | ✈️ Travel to UK, EU & USA
I'm currently working exclusively with a market-leading B2B events business to find a talented and commercially savvy Head of Content to join their flagship brand, Insurance Innovators.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio that delivers industry-defining conferences and digital content to the global insurance market - including events in Las Vegas, New York, and the House of Lords.
The position is vacant due to a team member moving on, and my client is now looking for someone who truly understands their market, brings exceptional writing and editorial skills, and has the commercial thinking needed to deliver high-impact events.
🧠 The Role
Reporting to the Director of Insurance Innovators, the Head of Content will lead on strategy, programme development, team management, and high-level research across a successful and growing portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
✔ Taking project ownership for 4 events per year (2 flagship, 2 smaller-scale)
✔ Leading programme research, writing, and content strategy
✔ Managing and mentoring a small team of content producers
✔ Proofing and editing all written materials - including agendas, websites, and marketing copy
✔ Supporting on new event development and recruitment
✔ Representing the brand at global events and competitor conferences
✔ Collaborating with internal stakeholders on content strategy and execution
This role sits at the intersection of content, strategy, and commercial thinking - ideal for someone who wants to influence the direction of a respected, global brand.
🔍 What We're Looking For
My client is open-minded on background - they're not necessarily looking for someone from insurance - but you must be a strong writer with a deep interest in market trends, strategic thinking, and delivering to senior, professional audiences.
You should bring:
2-3 years' experience in B2B content, conference production, publishing, or editorial
Proven writing and editing skills - writing quality is key to success in this role
The ability to lead or mentor others, and manage multiple projects
A commercially curious mindset - someone who 'gets' their market
Experience with conference programmes, event content or thought leadership
💼 Recruitment Process
There's a robust process in place, designed to assess writing skills and market understanding:
Initial Interview (30 mins) - with hiring team
Timed Writing Task - to assess content creation skills
Content Review Task - reviewing and editing material
Final Interview - with the Director of Academics
