About the Role:
A school in Watford are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and experienced Head of Drama to lead their vibrant Drama Department at a forward-thinking secondary school in Watford. As Head of Drama, you will be responsible for leading the department, developing an engaging curriculum, supporting student progress at all key stages, and delivering high-quality drama productions that contribute to the cultural life of the school.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Drama Department
*
Deliver outstanding teaching across Key Stages 3–5
*
Develop and implement an exciting and inclusive drama curriculum
*
Organise and direct school productions, performances, and events
*
Monitor student progress and implement effective interventions where necessary
*
Foster a love of performance, creativity, and self-expression among students
*
Support and mentor other drama staff and contribute to whole-school initiatives
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
*
QTS and a strong academic background in Drama or Performing Arts
*
A track record of excellent teaching and positive outcomes for students
*
Experience in curriculum planning and leadership (or clear readiness for it)
*
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
*
A deep enthusiasm for theatre and the performing arts
*
The ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students of all abilities
