Head of Estates – Nationwide Property Portfolio
Location: Lichfield – Head Office | Hybrid (minimum 1 day/week) | National Travel
Salary: Up to £100,000 + company car + bonus + benefits

Are you a senior estates professional ready to take the next step in your career? A leading UK care provider is looking for a Head of Estates to lead a nationwide property and facilities function, shaping the future of a diverse property portfolio and driving operational excellence.
This is a strategic, high-impact role with responsibility for a multi-regional Estates team, ensuring properties are safe, efficient, and fully compliant. You’ll influence national estates strategy, oversee budgets, and deliver key projects, while supporting a team of talented Property Managers, Support, and Compliance professionals.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver a long-term estates strategy aligned with organisational goals.

Lead and inspire a multi-regional estates team, promoting collaboration, performance, and development.
*
Oversee a nationwide freehold and leasehold portfolio, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and sustainability.
*
Manage capital projects and estate development, delivering to time, budget, and specification.
*
Implement preventative and reactive maintenance programmes.
*
Drive environmentally sustainable practices and continuous improvement across the estate.
*
Manage budgets, procurement, and contracts, ensuring cost efficiency and value.
*
Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, contractors, and consultants.
Requirements
*
RICS qualified with senior-level estates, property, or facilities management experience.
*
Proven experience in estate management, portfolio optimisation, and capital works delivery.
*
Strong technical knowledge of building systems, compliance, and health & safety.
*
Skilled in managing budgets, contracts, and multi-site operations.
*
Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
*
Degree in a relevant real estate/property discipline.
*
Healthcare sector experience desirable, but not essential.
