Head of Estimating – Façades & Building Envelope Specialist
Location: Essex-based (Hybrid working available)
Company: Façades & Re-Cladding Contractor
Experience: 20+ years in the industry | £30m turnover
Salary: £100k+ basic salary + highly competitive package (negotiable above market rate for the right candidate)

They operate both as a principal contractor and a façades specialist subcontractor, delivering projects ranging from £1m to £10m across the UK for a wide array of main contractor clients. Their portfolio includes both new build and refurbishment works in the commercial, residential, and public sectors.
The Opportunity:
The business is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Head of Estimating to lead its estimating function. The successful candidate will oversee a team of 6 estimators and play a key role in both operational delivery and strategic growth, with a clear pathway to Directorship.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and lead the estimating department, including a team of 6 estimators
* Take ownership of the full pre-construction estimating process
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
* Drive continuous improvement of estimating systems and tender accuracy
* Provide strategic input at senior level to support the company’s commercial goals
* Ensure competitive and profitable pricing across a wide range of building envelope projects
Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience in a senior estimating role within façades, cladding, or building envelope sectors
* Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
* Thorough knowledge of a variety of façade systems, including curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, windows, doors, and insulation systems
* Experience pricing and leading tenders for projects ranging from £1m to £10m
* Results-oriented with strong commercial awareness and a collaborative approach
