Job Description

Head of Events LOCATION: Office-based and on-site work (Leatherhead) SALARY SCALE: £55,000 to £60,000 per annum REPORTING TO: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) The Company This is a well-established company that specialises in organising corporate events across the UK on behalf of international clients from over 40 countries. For over 20 years the company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality events for global brands, often in partnership with leading event agencies from around the world. Typical projects include incentive programmes, conferences, product launches, and corporate hospitality events. The company is on a growth trajectory, with a goal to become the leading UK event organiser within the next three years. The role This is a senior leadership position working closely with the CEO to help deliver the company’s strategic and commercial goals. The role involves leading a small team of Project Managers and freelance support staff, and taking ownership of the full lifecycle of multiple events—primarily on behalf of international clients and overseas agencies. There is significant opportunity for professional development and growth as the business expands. Key Responsibilities Contribute to overall business strategy and planning Support marketing and product development initiatives Ensure prompt, high-quality responses to client briefs Manage event budgets effectively Help improve conversion rates and profit margins Maintain strong relationships with agency partners and clients Oversee the delivery of multiple events simultaneously Research and negotiate with venues, hotels, restaurants, and suppliers Oversee the creation and maintenance of project documentation Respond to client requests and prepare tailored proposals Build and maintain supplier relationships Represent the company’s policies and standards professionally Handle queries from delegates, clients, and consumers Provide on-site management of events, staff, and supplier Experience and skills Professional experience Ideally in a similar role Degree educated preferred Additional requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and comfortable using Dropbox and CRM tools (e.g., Pipedrive) Strong working knowledge of London’s event venues, hotels, and restaurants is an advantage Strong leadership and management abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills A desire to grow within the company High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively Confident and personable team player Comfortable working in a small business environment Able to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines Commercially minded with sound judgement Hardworking, flexible, and enthusiastic about the event industry £55-60K Basic salary Benefits * 28 days of annual leave (including Bank Holidays) * Company pension scheme (contributory) * Childcare voucher scheme * Flexible working arrangements available Refer a friend and earn £100!
